The project
During the first two weekends of January, the action sports winter festival BARBEGAZI, official event of the 375th anniversary of Montreal, launched the Hivernales and was the first major gathering of the festivities.
During the first two weekends of January, the action sports winter festival BARBEGAZI, official event of the 375th anniversary of Montreal, launched the Hivernales and was the first major gathering of the festivities.
The Îlot Clark, in the Quartier des spectacles, was transformed into a huge free playground. BARBEGAZI is a rolling fire of physical activities to encourage Montrealers to have fun and go outside rather than hibernate. Besides, it was a total immersion in urban culture with its food trucks, urban fire, and so on.
The main attraction of the event was a playful, oversized and technological obstacle course (RFID bracelet), after which the winners of the 10 best performances got to share a $5,000 award. The general public (around 17 500 people) was able to participate in this crazy race, then discover other action sports : snowskate, woodcutting, arm wrestling, throwing the Christmas tree, etc.
In order to build bridges with other events of the Hivernales, BARBEGAZI and Igloofest allied. A great match that made our arm wrestling game last a little longer, directly on the site of Igloofest.
Tribu Expérientiel was proud to be able to help evolve and work on this project with the 375th of Montreal. A beautiful project that has been expanding over the past 5 years !
