JACKALOPE x Arc'teryx Summer of Climb Boston

The project

In partnership with Arc’teryx Boston, JACKALOPE presented a bouldering competition at the Boston Bouldering Project as part of Arc’teryx’s global series of events, Summer of Climb.

With the goal of creating an event that prioritizes the athlete experience, the competition introduced a blend of both “tried and true” and exciting new comp formats, with plenty of categories to compete in so everyone feels empowered and welcome as they are.

Open Competition:

• Men and Women’s categories.
• Qualifications with a modified redpoint format
• Finales with an onsight/elimination format (one athlete is eliminated after each boulder)
• The four winners received a paid trip to the Arc’teryx Academy in Squamish.

Citizens Competition:

• Men and Women’s categories
• Modified redpoint format

Knock Out Competition:

• Showcase round
• Athletes compete at the same time on identical boulders

Experiences:

• Beverage table presented by Aeronaut Brewery
• Gear giveaways from Mad Rock Climbing, Ripple Boston, Rhino Skin, Appalachian Mountain Club, and Arc’teryx Boston
• DJ set from Chris Capozzi
