The project

APIK Mississauga presented by Samsung Galaxy is a FREE urban adrenaline fest for winter sports lovers, held from February 7-9, 2025.

From thrilling ski and snowboard competitions to pumping DJ sets and after-parties, the festival brought the mountain spirit right into the heart of the city.

Seventy athletes competed for an impressive total prize pool of 100K CAD, with 25K awarded to both men and women in each sport! This all took place on an exceptional 37 feet high, comparable to a three-story building, and 282 feet in length course.

Families and friends came together to embrace winter in an electrifying urban playground. APIK was open and free for everyone!

The Experience

The event kicked off Friday night with an invite-only snowskate best trick competition featuring top Ambition Snowskates athletes. A skateboarding best trick contest was also introduced, tying into JACKALOPE Mississauga.

On Saturday, the ski competition featured top athletes, including Tom Wallisch, Jackson Karsteter, Megan Oldham, and many others, delivering impressive performances.

Sunday wrapped up the weekend with the snowboard competition, where riders like Frank Jobin, Laurie Blouin, Liam Brearley, and more took on the course.

To enhance the spectator experience, we added large screens with instant replays and webcasted the competitions live for those who couldn’t attend in person.

The festival also offered free family-friendly activities all weekend, including snowskate and snowboard initiations, outdoor games, and interactive experiences, making APIK accessible to all.

This is the kind of event I live for. And I’ll be back every year that goes on. I hope the crowd will too.
