The Project

Injecting Adrenaline Into Atlantic Winter Programming

As part of Polarfest in Moncton (New-Brunswick), BARBEGAZI brought elite snowmobile freestyle to the heart of the city introducing a bold, high-energy dimension to this winter celebration.

The event blended festival atmosphere with action sports spectacle, creating a high-density crowd moment that elevated the overall event experience.

Rather than simply adding programming, BARBEGAZI Moncton 2026 created a highlight that gathered fans and families, heads pointed towards the sky watching snowmobile athletes flying 40ft in the air.

The Experience

A Defining Festival Moment

BARBEGAZI didn’t just add programming, it helped shape the atmosphere of the entire weekend at Polarfest.

Beyond the snowmobile stunt shows, the site featured:

A beer garden creating a lively evening hub
Local food trucks increasing on-site dwell time
A curated lineup of local artists across both nights
Athlete meet-and-greets extending audience engagement beyond the performances

On Friday, the Downtown Place stage featured East of Sundown, Chris Belliveau Trio, and Spoiled Rotten, building momentum into the evening stunt shows.

On Saturday, Run the River, Félix Belliveau Trio, and The Mainlanders carried the energy through the evening, transforming the activation into a full winter night-out experience.

By combining freestyle sport with local music, food, and social gathering spaces, BARBEGAZI Moncton delivered more than a show, it created a complete festival ecosystem anchored in both adrenaline and community.

Elite Talent in a Niche Discipline

The Moncton edition featured two internationally recognized riders returning from the prestigious X Games Aspen:

Rasmus Johansson (Sweden)
Daniel Shaffer (Canada)

In a sport with fewer than 20 active professional riders worldwide, securing this level of talent underscores the exclusivity and caliber of the event.

The concentrated two-rider format created a tight, high-energy rhythm: maximizing airtime, maintaining intensity, and keeping the audience fully engaged throughout the performances.

The Impact

Regional Event, Global Reach

Digitally, BARBEGAZI Moncton significantly exceeded expectations for a market of this size:

500K+ Instagram views
200K+ Facebook views

These numbers reflect again the natural shareability of snowmobile freestyle, but also the event’s ability to position Moncton within broader national winter conversations.

For Atlantic Canada, this represents meaningful digital amplification and brand visibility beyond provincial borders.

A Strategic Growth Lever for Mid-Size Markets

BARBEGAZI demonstrates that high-caliber action sports programming is not limited to major metropolitan centers.

For growing winter cities, the format offers:

A scalable production model
Strong youth engagement potential
Immediate visual marketing assets
A distinctive programming differentiator

The Moncton edition proved that when paired with an established winter festival, BARBEGAZI can act as a catalyst: modernizing perception, increasing energy on-site, and expanding digital footprint.
Importantly, the activation does not rely on natural snowfall. The snowmobile freestyle format is designed to operate efficiently on urban concrete surfaces, offering greater production control, schedule reliability, and flexibility for host cities regardless of winter conditions.
