The project

Crankworx is an international mountain bike event, based in Whistler, which presents several high-level mountain bike competitions. Crankworx Summer Series is Crankworx’s punk little brother. It’s serious about what’s important, but other than that, it’s a relaxing atmosphere. In short: go full send, but do it in a party shirt! This time, the final stop of the season was in Campbellton, New Brunswick, at Sugarloaf Bike Park, as part of the Adrenaline Bike Festival, from August 16 to 18, 2024!

The experience

For the first year of the Crankworx Summer Series in New Brunswick, Sugarloaf Bike Park went all out by unveiling two brand-new courses: Dual Slalom and Slopestyle. During the event, participants were able to visit local shops and prepare their bikes for the upcoming fall rides.

August 16 | Dual Slalom: Riders competed on a new course designed by Darren Berrecloth. The evening concluded at the Restigouche Experience Centre for the Big Air Kick-Off Party, where fans were able to watch athletes perform tricks on the new Big Air, all while enjoying delicious food, refreshing drinks, and dynamic DJ sets.

August 17 | Slopestyle: The FMB Bronze event took place on an innovative course designed by Darren Berrecloth, featuring big tricks on the horizon.

Kidsworx: Non-competitive activities for children aged 6 to 12 were held, with surprises at registration.

XCO: Participants pushed their limits on a challenging XCO course, combining tough terrain and stunning views. The competition was intense, and the rewards were significant!

Live band: The evening concluded with Excel and the Spreadsheet, known for their covers of retro classics.

August 18 | Downhill: The “L’Acadienne” trail was used for the DH event of the Crankworx Summer Series at Sugarloaf Bike Park, along with the Kodiak and Grumpy Gris trails.
