Nathan Apodaca wasn’t expecting to experience such emotions when he published this video.

Since then, it has been viewed more than 50 million times on TikTok and nearly 25 million times on Twitter. This global attention has also resulted in numerous cash donations to the Venmo account of the newest TikTok star. Within days of the video’s release, he had already received tens of thousands of dollars from strangers. The Idaho Falls man was planning to buy a new car, as he works full time at a potato processing plant.

Apodaca was also approached by Foot Locker with a sponsorship opportunity and he received dozens, if not hundreds, of requests for interviews. And he received a truckload of his favorite cranberry juice.

Fleetwood Mac also benefited from the virality of this release, as the song used in the video, “Dreams” was propelled to the listening heights of Spotify and Apple Music. The song even made it back into the Billboard’s Hot 100 list for the first time since 1977!

But the 37-year-old had already achieved a certain status before this release exploded. Having started using TikTok because of his two Gen Z daughters, Apodaca was attracting attention with his dance moves.
