Production Director

The Production Director is responsible for developing the internal team and maximizing human and material resources for each project. Leading the production team, they oversee the production of all events and projects. The Production Director supports the executive committee in planning and profitability of projects as a member of the executive team, contributing to the establishment and implementation of company policy and best practices in production to ensure the organization’s objectives are met. This person also ensures close collaboration with other departments in project execution.

Executive tasks 

  • Organize the weekly team meetings of the production team;
  • Participate in the executive committee and ensure the profitability of the team’s projects;
  • Close the month ends in collaboration with the accounting technician, look for invoices and keep an eye on all budgets to respect margins;
  • In charge of recruiting, screening and hiring for various positions;

Prospecting /Pitch 

  • Participate in completing the Tribu brief to ensure internal understanding of the mandate;
  • Validate the budget and allocate the necessary resources according to the project schedule;
  • Collaborate in the preparation of the pitch by reading, among others, the post-mortem of a similar project;

Establishing the agreement 

  • Ensure the project schedule is updated by assigning the necessary resources to the right project;
  • Work closely with the Project Owner of production projects (Monday, schedule and budget);

Pre-production/Production 

  • Select and negotiate with various suppliers (technical, layout, décor, F&B, etc.);
  • Support the team by planning weekly meetings and monitoring the budget to identify profit margins and ensure the delivery and sustainability of projects;

Client meetings/tracking and project delivery 

  • Ensure the delivery of assigned projects by performing continuous follow-ups on the overall progress of deliverables;
  • Manage a few suppliers by ensuring the follow-up of installations and the respect of the assembly and dismantling schedule;
  • Participate in client meetings;

Closing and post-mortem 

  • Ensure the closing of the project through the closing of the budget and the evaluation of the profitability;
  • Organize internal meetings with all stakeholders involved in order to perform a case study of the project

Qualifications and knowledge required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, management, marketing or design (any relevant related discipline);
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role;
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in the event industry;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software is a plus;
  • Sense of organization, rigor, responsibility, autonomy and priorities;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Drive;
  • Creative and innovative spirit, dynamic, positive leader;
  • Ability to communicate in French and English, orally and in writing;
  • Very good understanding of experiential marketing and events;
  • Availability outside of business hours;

Interpersonal skills and abilities 

  • Excellent customer service;
  • Excellent knowledge of experiential marketing & content creation
  • Knowledge of eSports and extreme sports (an asset)
  • Good time and priority management;
  • Autonomy and a strong sense of organization with attention to detail
  • Travel required to clients, suppliers and different sites.
