The project

Tribu Expérientiel was mandated by Capital City Events to produce the 15th edition of Jack Frost Winterfest, Atlantic Canada’s largest winter festival in Charlottetown, PEI. Tribu was brought on board to add its touch to the event through a stronger, varied programming that offered activities for all ages and tastes. All of this to drive people to visit Charlottetown for a winter weekend getaway.

The experience

On February 14th to 17th, downtown Charlottetown was taken over by the Jack Frost wave. The new programming was centered around five locations that offered a diverse palette of things to do, starting with the Eastlink Snow Kingdom with its ice slides and other cool activities like fatbiking, snowskating, axe throwing and much more. People could also head inside at the Indoor Playland, where kids and teens could try out inflatable games, attend magic and busker shows as well as play video games on a giant screen. Young kids could enjoy the shows at the Live Family Stage, where they could catch the Internet sensation Baby Shark along with Max & Ruby.

On Saturday night, all Charlottetown was invited to Aurora, a free zone where everybody could get a taste of Jack Frost, the festive way. On the menu: snowskating, ice sculpture, our community snow carving contest, a DJ to provide party beats and of course, an impressive firework display! Finally, festival goers could go take a break at the Warm Up Zone. Located at Founders’ Food Hall & Market, the Warm Up Zone was the ideal spot to warm up after some fun at the Snow Kingdom. People could try local eats and appreciate the work of local PEI artisans.
