The Project

JACKALOPE Mississauga 2026 brought world-class action sports back to the heart of Downtown Mississauga for three adrenaline-filled days from July 10–12, 2026. Transforming the Square One Shopping Centre (P3) parking lot into a custom outdoor arena, TRIBU delivered a free, accessible environment that celebrated skate culture, youth expression, and community.

The festival was headlined by an elite international roster of action sports legends and Olympic-level pros—including Micky Papa, Ryan Decenzo, Jake Ilardi, Juno Matsuoka, Lucas Rabelo, Ivan Monteiro, and Bryce Wettstein.

Impactful Marketing & Campaign Highlights

  • Golden Ticket Program & International Talent: Selected 6 winners out of 135+ global submissions—judged by Bob Burnquist and Manny Santiago—to document their journey to Mississauga, generating over 1M campaign views. Additionally, invited two emerging international athletes from Brazil and Madagascar through local competition entries.

  • Destination Promotion Content: In partnership with Visit Mississauga, we hosted our Golden Ticket winners on an action-packed tour of local and regional attractions—including sessions at CJ’s Skatepark, local skateparks like Iceland Skatepark, axe throwing, an immersive VR experience and finished the day at a dinner with gifts for them. This local immersion created highly shareable tourism content that showcased the city’s dynamic vibe to a global audience.
  • Local Artist Branding: Collaborated with local artist Cat Dirty on airport-themed artwork integrated across event branding, social media, and exclusive merch.
  • Custom Airport-Themed Skatepark: Partnered again with California Skateparks to design a custom course reflecting Mississauga’s identity. Supported by Visit Mississauga, the park incorporated custom elements like the YYZ sign, destination board, and luggage carousel as a nod to Toronto Pearson International Airport.
  • Targeted Media Buy: Scaled regional awareness by exceeding awareness targets (2.4× impression goal) and driving massive site traffic (nearly 6× click goal). The campaign coupled high-converting paid social across TikTok (835K impressions, 11.9K clicks), Meta (795K impressions, 265K video views), and Google Ads (3K clicks, 580 conversions) with on-the-ground poster placements in 100+ high-traffic local businesses throughout Downtown Mississauga and the GTA.

The Experience

The festival featured elite competitions in Street & Vert Skateboarding, Moto X & BMX demonstrations, Calisthenics, interactive fan experiences like a climbing wall, a mini skatepark and mini-ramp, and a lively local marketplace. Powered by strong local support and destination promotion through Visit Mississauga, the event brought together more than 300 athletes from 10 countries competing for a $50,000 cash prize purse split equally between men and women across Street and Vert categories.
