Impactful Marketing & Campaign Highlights

• The Golden Ticket Campaign (Local to Global): To build massive pre-event momentum, we ran our signature Golden Ticket Program—a competition-driven storytelling concept that follows underdog athletes from submitting a single skate clip to stepping onto the world stage.
  • The Selection: Out of hundreds of entries, 6 total winners were selected: 4 from our online contest (top men and women across street and vert) and 2 additional wildcards voted on by the public.
  • The Hype: The campaign generated +730K views and 35+ organic posts across our platforms.
• Destination Promotion Content: In partnership with the city of Virginia Beach, we took our Golden Ticket winners on a high-adrenaline tour of local regional experiences—including surfing at Atlantic Park (Wavegarden), iFLY indoor skydiving, and Suffolk skydiving—to produce highly shareable tourism content that generated nearly 50,000 total views online.
• Collab with Artists: To engage the local scene, we collaborated with local skate icon and artist Andy Howell. His brand, Ghost Ship, hosted a beachside pop-up store, ran a live graffiti-painting activation, and Howell designed the official, limited-edition event poster. The partnership also included screening their brand movie during the festival, backed by 6 live MC shoutouts.
• Community & Grassroots Pipeline: Virginia Beach was the culmination of a year-round grassroots activation strategy. To feed talent into the main event, we distributed passes at previous stops:

• Multi-Channel Media Buy: We reinforced our digital footprint with a targeted local campaign. This included Google and Meta ads that combined for over 560,000 impressions, alongside a regional partnership with Papa John’s that distributed 39,000 custom flyers across 27 locations.

The Experience

Skateboarding Royalty & Elite Competition

Fans experienced three days of free, elite Vert Ramp and street skating competitions featuring technical runs and massive tricks from the world’s best.

• In the Men’s Street Open, Argentinian skateboarder Matías Dell Olio claimed a spectacular victory, landing a never-before-done, highly technical trick that instantly went viral on social media.
• The momentum surged onto the Vert Ramp, where the unstoppable JD Sanchez secured back-to-back gold after his Ventura victory.
• STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Partnership: To celebrate STIHL’s 100th anniversary, we strategically aligned our schedule with their timbersports competition taking place at Neptune Park, allowing both brands to cross-pollinate audiences and unlock mutual promotional opportunities.
• To top it all off, the community was treated to an incredible convergence of skate royalty: icon Bob Burnquist graced the ramp alongside the legendary Christian Hosoi and a surprise appearance by Vans godfather Steve Van Doren, solidifying this stop as a historic celebration of action sports culture.

The Beachfront Festival & Multi-Sport Spectacle
To push the boundaries of entertainment, we transformed the beachfront and boardwalk into a massive, multi-sport festival footprint with diverse fan activations:

• Highline & Moto X: Local rider Zach DiPaolo electrified his hometown crowd during the motocross demo, while a breathtaking highline competition in partnership with Uncharted Lines stretched directly over the crowd between the Hilton and Hampton Inn hotels.
• Adaptive skateboard & Roller skate: We partnered with the KickPush Organization to host an inspiring Adaptive Skateboarding Demo featuring paralympic athletes, while welcoming inline and roller skaters to the course—with our Karma Inline competition.
• Interactive Slackline Zone: Partnered with Colorado’s Uncharted Lines to host a free, multi-level beachside slackline initiation area for a hands-on fan experience.
• Boardwalk Vibe & Premium Access: Transformed the boardwalk with local vendors, food trucks and experience upgrades, resulting in a 100% vendor retention rate for next year.
• Global Webcast Connectivity: A live stream fueled by Monster Energy and hosted by Todd Richards, Bob Burnquist, and Jaime Reyes delivered real-time global exposure. Through strategic broadcasting partnerships with PX Sports and Atmosphere TV, the live feed successfully reached over 1 million homes globally, capturing 40K live views on YouTube across 37 countries.
