Mountain biking in Quebec is a booming market that includes 1.1 million enthusiasts where nearly half are young people aged between 18 and 34 years old. This sport has increased by nearly 500,000 people over the past 5 years. The truth is, mountain biking centers in Quebec have never been so busy.
This enthusiasm is driving cycling destinations that are developing to accommodate a growing clientele via quality infrastructure. Every year, many mountain bike centers offer new trails, built to high standards that involve heavy machinery and expert trail designers.
The Quebec region stands out
The province of Quebec offers 2,600 km of mountain bike trails, including 575 km in the Capitale-Nationale region, which is by far the area with the most terrain. The top five go-to centers of the destination, which are Mont-Sainte-Anne, Vallée Bras-du-Nord, Sentiers du Moulin, Empire 47 and the Massif de Charlevoix, have witnessed an increase of more than 300% in their traffic over the five last years. Incredible!
It must be said that in 2014, they decided to join forces under the Québec Vélo de Montagne tag, an association that was (and still is) aiming to position itself as a major mountain biking destination across the province and beyond. One thing is clear; they can claim “mission accomplished”!
